The discipline, endurance, positive mental attitude, group cohesiveness, determination, leadership skills, and the ability to adapt and overcome philosophy that the Marine Corps has instilled within Mr. Schwartz, are traits that will stay with him forever; Hence the term, Once a Marine, Always a Marine. These valuable characteristics that Mr. Schwartz possesses can be applied to most people striving to be successful in achieving their dreams. In short, Mr. Schwartz is trained to break through barriers in pursuit of accomplishing objectives.
After being discharged from the Marine Corps in 2000, Mr. Schwartz received a position as a Custom Protection Officer for the Wackenhut Corps. His objective was to observe and report any crime or violations within major supermarkets, while standing guard in protection of the patron's safety and the store's assets. Six months following this position, Mr. Schwartz was promoted as a loss prevention officer, where he acted in an undercover environment, viewing surveillance cameras and ferreting out shop lifters inside of various supermarkets in the Miami area.

Graduation
Associates of Arts Degree - Business Administration
During this time, Mr. Schwartz's dream was to become a law enforcement officer and to complete his Associates Degree in Business Administration. Six months later, Mr. Schwartz graduated with his Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and was accepted into the police academy, where he utilized his GI Bill to pay for this training. In March 2001, Mr. Schwartz completed his law enforcement training and in May of 2001, his dream of becoming a police officer was achieved at the age of 22, when the City of Lake Worth Police Department hired him as a law enforcement officer. During this position, Mr. Schwartz received an enormous amount of training by some of the best law enforcement trainers in the South Florida area. He was part of the Lake Worth SWAT team and worked a beat that was high in criminal activity. After almost 2 years of employment with the City of Lake Worth Police Department, Mr. Schwartz accepted a law enforcement position with the City of West Palm Beach Police Department. While at this police department, Mr. Schwartz served as part of the crisis intervention team that primarily addressed severe incidents of distress within the city limits. Moreover, he was very proactive in the community as he arrested several dangerous and violent criminals and was also part of the downtown bicycle team, where he worked with numerous downtown business owners on the security of their business.
As an officer for the West Palm Beach Police Department, Mr. Schwartz projected a new dream of furthering his education.
In 2004, he enrolled at Palm Beach Atlantic University, in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management.
While working between 50-60 hours a week of road patrol and overtime, in addition to balancing a family life,
Mr. Schwartz was able to graduate Suma Cum Laude.
Moreover, in 2007, Mr. Schwartz earned his Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership, with a concentration in Facilitating Adult Learning, graduating with a 3.7 GPA. During this program, Mr. Schwartz had the opportunity to learn from profound and distinguished professors. Additionally, his frame of reference expanded immensely as he worked and debated with high ranking professionals/learners from diverse backgrounds; seen in the following group picture.
Immediately following graduation of his master's degree, Mr. Schwartz pursued a new dream of becoming an instructor for the police academy. In October 2007, Mr. Schwartz completed a Police Instructor Certification Course and was subsequently selected as an adjunct instructor for Palm Beach State University, Criminal Justice and Training Division. During this time, Mr. Schwartz trained police recruits on basic law enforcement training, tactics, and procedures.
On May 26, 2008, Mr. Schwartz encountered an incident while on duty for the City of West Palm Beach Police Department that would not only change the trajectory of his life forever, but would prove to be the ultimate test of his character, will, integrity, intelligence, determination, and endurance.
Over the next 3.8 years Mr. Schwartz was in a constant battle. Mr. Schwartz was terminated from the police department after he kicked an armed robbery suspect in the head, when the suspect began biting his partner's leg. The scene began when the suspect committed an armed robbery to a CVS pharmacy located in West Palm Beach. Mr. Schwartz was located in front of the business during an unrelated traffic stop. When Mr. Schwartz confronted the armed robbery suspect, the suspect violently attacked him with pepper spray in an attempt to flee the scene. The restraint that Mr. Schwartz displayed that night; by not shooting and killing the suspect, can be directly attributed to his military training, and his profound compassion for people.
This police involved incident became politically motivated once the video of the arrest received national attention. As a result, two other officers in addition to Mr. Schwartz were terminated. Ten months after his termination, Mr. Schwartz was arrested by a newly elected State Attorney. During this period, Mr. Schwartz was winning his job back through an arbitration process for wrongful termination. Politics played a significant role in his termination and arrest. Mr. Schwartz was determined to clear his name and bring truth to justice. During this critical time in life, Mr. Schwartz chose to immerse himself in knowledge, yoga, and spirituality. Moreover, he began his PhD in Education, Training and Performance Improvement through Capella University. In 2010, Mr. Schwartz began coaching client's pro bono to gain experience after taking doctoral level courses in coaching. Please see testimonials.

During this time Mr. Schwartz was heavily involved in the fight for his freedom and restoration of his position as a law enforcement officer. He frequently worked and contributed with his attorneys on the progress of his case, in addition to working with a video producer, named Guy Chaifietz, of the www.editcentre.com who enhanced the video that was used to terminate and arrest Mr. Schwartz. Upon enhancement of this video Mr. Schwartz's innocence was clearly realized, as the enhanced video precisely shows the suspect provoking the attack, which was not seen without enhancement. In addition to this enhanced video, Mr. Schwartz actively researched experts in the field of Police Use of Force. His research led him to contact the leader in the field of Police Defensive Tactics, Mr. Bruce Siddle. It should be known that eighty percent of all law enforcement agencies in the world use Mr. Siddle's Defensive Tactics Curriculum. His research into the physiological effects of a critical incident is profound and globally recognized. Upon reviewing the facts of the case, Mr. Siddle agreed that Mr. Schwartz was innocent, as he acted well within the parameters that he was governed by. Before Mr. Siddle could be deposed to testify in Mr. Schwartz's case, all charges of wrong doing were dropped against him, citing the enhanced video as the cause. Immediately following the dropped charges, Mr. Schwartz proceeded with his arbitration, where his 2nd Use of Force Expert classified him as a "hero", stating that this was a travesty for what the city did to him.
In April 2012, the arbitrator ruled that Mr. Schwartz was wrongfully terminated and immediately reinstated him as a law enforcement officer for the city of West Palm Beach Police Department, thus making him whole, with full back pay, overtime, and seniority, ending a 3.8 year fight that elicited the best out of Mr. Schwartz during these trying times.
In summary, Mr. Schwartz ran into the CVS that was actively being robbed by the suspect, when several patrons were running out in a hurry. When the suspect pepper sprayed Mr. Schwartz, he could have justifiably shot and killed the suspect, depriving the suspect's wife of a husband, and his two children of a father. Furthermore, Mr. Schwartz protected his partner from being bit by the suspect. Finally, Mr. Schwartz returned dangerous and highly addictive narcotics back to the pharmacy. In short, Mr. Schwartz was a hero that night and he proved it.
Mr. Schwartz is currently in the process of writing a book of his experience, in addition to working with producers to create a movie. In the mean time, Mr. Schwartz has started his Leadership Coaching Business; LJS Coaching.
In closing, Mr. Schwartz is a testament to dream achievement. His new dream now is to follow his original oath in law enforcement of "Protect and Serve" and expand on that by offering to share his knowledge and experience with the community, state, nation, and world, by coaching leaders and the ones of tomorrow.
